Layout tools that use the shape you selected last
Deckcell’s layout tools align, dock, stretch and resize shapes to a master shape: the one you selected last. Select one shape and the slide is the reference instead. There are more than 20 tools, including slice and multiply, matrices and a Magic Resizer, in PowerPoint and Google Slides.

Master-based layout
PowerPoint aligns to the selection’s outer edges. Deckcell tracks selection order, so you choose what everything lines up with.
Align to master or slide
Left, centre, right, top, middle or bottom, to the master shape or to the slide.
Dock
Butt shapes up against the master’s edge, with no gap or a set one.
Stretch
Extend shapes to the master’s edge without moving the other side.
Fill the gap
Grow a shape to fill the space between two others.
Same size
Match width, height or both to the master.
Swap and abut
Swap two shapes’ positions, or line shapes up end to end.
Grids without arithmetic
Slice and multiply
Cut a shape into a grid of rows and columns, or copy it into one, with exact gaps.
Matrix
Arrange shapes into rows and columns in the order you selected them.
Align in a table
Line shapes up with the cells of a table.
Distribute
Even spacing across or down.
Scale
Resize shapes, the gaps between them and their fonts together.
Magic Resizer
Resize each shape on its own, optionally scaling outlines and fonts with it.
Shapes consultants draw every day
Process chain
Turn a row of shapes into a chain of chevrons or pentagons.
Pentagon header
A header shape that points into the content below it.
Same tip angle
Make every chevron and arrow point at the same angle.
Block arrows and corners
Set arrow style and corner radius across many shapes at once.
Fonts across the deck
Replace or resize fonts in the selection, on the slide or in the whole deck.
Symbols
Insert arrows, ticks and other symbols without hunting through menus.
Tools that change shape handles (tip angle, arrow style, corner radius) need PowerPoint (PowerPointApi 1.10). Google Slides has no handle API, so they’re PowerPoint only. Everything else works in both.
Frequently asked questions
What is a master shape?
The shape you selected last. Deckcell’s layout tools align, dock and size the other shapes to it. With only one shape selected, the slide is the reference.
Do the layout tools work in Google Slides?
Yes, except the three tools that change shape handles: tip angle, arrow style and corner radius.
How is this different from PowerPoint’s Align menu?
PowerPoint aligns to the edges of the whole selection. Deckcell aligns to a shape you choose, docks shapes edge to edge, stretches them to an edge, fills gaps, and builds grids with exact spacing.
